Skin helps keep our temperature stable. It lets heat our through sweat. If the body is called then bumps are raised on our skin to raise the temperature.

The skin is one of the most important organs in keeping the body at homeostasis. Like pete said it lets sweat out to keep us cool. Then we get goose bumps to keep us warn.
