They are different because they are in your genes. No one has the exact same gemes. Also, fingerprints are changed when the fingers touch things when it is still growning in the mother's body.

Each person has a different type of finger print. They each have a set of lines and patterns. No two are the same.
Your DNA determines your fingerprints. They are all different because everyone has different DNA. Every finger print varies.
