Damage

What happens to the brain when one portion is damaged while the other portion is left unharmed? Is a person still able to function or not?

Usually the right side of your brain affects the left side of your body. The person is usually paralized on the opposite side of the body that they had injured their brain. This often happens with strokes.

Different parts of our brain affect different parts of our body. If part of your brain is damaged, you may die if it is the part that controls breathing. You may go into a coma if your upper level thinking is affected. It just depends on which part.

If the left side gets ruined it will effect your right side of your body. They can still function. They might not function as normal as they did before their brain got destroyed.
