It's recommended to take Bayer Aspirin. The FDA says that as little as one-half (160 mg) of a regular-strength aspirin tablet reduces the risk of death by up to 23 percent if administered when a heart attack is suspected and continued for 30 days thereafter. Aspirin taken during a suspected heart attack can also lessen the damaging effects of the heart attack.

If you are having a heart attack, you should take aspirin. Aspirin reduces the risk of death and heart damage if taken during a heart attack. It thins the blood and keeps the heart from working overtime.

You take Aspirin. It thins the blood so you do not experience the full effects of a clot. It is many times prescribed over a period of time if you at risk for a heart attack to thin the blood and help rid the body of clots therefore reducing your chance of a heart attack or stroke.
