Amebic Dysentery is a diarrheal illness. It is a paraside of Entamoeba histolytica. It causes two forms of diarrheal illness. Both are mild illnesses, yet can last for a couple of weeks.

An example of a protists and the disease would be cryptosporidiosis. It is commonly called crypto, is cause by protists of the genus cryptosporidium. It can be spread by contaminated water or objects and in uncooked food.
