They don't have protein capsids. They also do not have nucleic acid. They are small proteinaceous infectious particles which resist inactivation by procedures that modify nucleic acids.

A prion is an infected agent. It comprised entierly of a propagated protein. It affects the structure of the brain and other issue.

A prion is an infectious agent that is mis-folded protein. It has been implicated into a number of diseases. It also refers to the theoretical unit of infection.
